PROGRAMME OFFICER

TERMS OF REFERENCE

Form of Employment: Long-term consultancy contract, initially 3-months probation period, the contract may be extended after.

Contract Period: as soon as possible

Location: Currently hybrid arrangement, with a possibility of remote working (good internet connection is required).

Directly report to: Country Representative

Background

Democracy Reporting International is currently implementing a project on civil society support in Myanmar.

Objective and Role

The Programme Officer will support all aspects of activity development and implementation, including data collection and analysis. She/He will work closely with the Programme Coordinators and External Experts on outreach, event coordination and MEL data collection and analysis.

Tasks

  • Support the development of concept notes and agendas and coordinate activity logistics with the administration team.
  • Act as main liaison for participants for selected activities.
  • Support the monitoring, evaluation and learning function of the project.
  • Support research data analysis for project activities, including surveys and stakeholder mappings.
  • Together with the programme team develop tools or training materials for Women Peace Circle participants on relevant issues such as public outreach, good practices in community outreach or other, as relevant.
  • Represent DRI at relevant events/webinars and provide event notes and memos to respective/relevant team colleagues.
  • Support recruitments and acts as mentor for interns, in coordination with the other members of the Programmes team.
  • Any other tasks as required.

Qualifications

  • University degree in social science, political science, international relations, law, or another relevant field.
  • 2 years of relevant professional experience in donor-funded technical assistance projects is preferred.
  • Experience in supporting project implementation, including monitoring, evaluation and learning, data analysis.
  • Experience working with civil society organisations or related capacity-building will be considered as an asset.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision and in a multinational team with pro- active and problem-solver attitude is a must.
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in oral and written English and Myanmar Languages.
  • Proven ability to work in a team and coordinate with others, including working remotely.
  • Proficient user of all Microsoft Office applications, SharePoint, office equipment and communications equipment.
