Services Manager, HQ TOR 2015

Full-Time. Based in London with up to 50% Travel

Scope of work:

The Services Manager will support the delivery of Integrity’s project portfolio across Integrity’s five services and three delivery geographies: Africa, Asia and MENA. The Services Manager will focus on supporting project management and implementation, business and proposal development, and deliver on Services’ strategy, approaches and methodologies.

Terms of Reference:

A. Project Management and Delivery (40%)

  • Provide technical inputs, in a short-term technical assistance role, including quality assurance of project team deliverables.
  • Sponsor Independent Commission for Aid Impact (ICAI) reviews and other project/programmes including oversight of and support to the project manager/ proposal lead and be ultimately accountable for budget, deliverables, risk and project closedown.
  • Working with field programmes in MENA, Africa and Asia provide technical advisory support to delivery of programmes.
  • Working with the Corporate and Operations teams, provide leadership on project implementation processes including financial management, client communication, time and resource management.

B. Business and Proposal Development (40%)

  • Working with the Business Development team lead on teaming and consultant identification Independent Commission for Aid Impact (ICAI) reviews.
  • Identify new consultants with the appropriate technical, management and thematic skills to deliver Integrity’s growing portfolio of work with a specific focus on ICAI. Conduct interviews with shortlisted consultants to assess competencies, build their profile and establish areas for collaboration.
  • Lead the development of specific project and programme proposals, including technical content and budgets, in cooperation with the wider Integrity team.
  • Work to support our field programmes in MENA, Africa and Asia by assisting in the development and maintenance of team management, communications management and contributing to key BD dialogues and client management dialogues.
  • Explore upcoming opportunities not yet tendered through effective prepositioning with potential primes and other relationships.

C. Corporate Development (20%)

  • Understand, monitor and disseminate new agendas and trends within the industry, including commissioned pieces of research.
  • Develop unique Integrity approaches and methodologies based on innovative practices with the aim of being thought leaders in the field.
  • Develop and keep up to date thematic and technical brochures that demonstrate Integrity’s capacity and expertise in a concise and easily digestible format that can be shared internally and externally.
  • Contribute to the refinement and enhancement of the service line strategy through capturing key objectives and steps for further developing the service line.
  • Raise Integrity’s profile and contribute to thought leadership through journal entries, concept pieces, case studies and the dissemination of formative finds from innovative interventions.

Education and Experience:

The candidate will have:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant subject such as political science, international relations, sociology, social anthropology, international development, peace and conflict studies or related subject
  • 5+ years of experience of the development sector (including related humanitarian/security sectors), preferably for DFID and/or FCO funded projects, including in the field.
  • Experience relevant to at least one of our five service lines: Research & Analysis; Design, Monitoring & Evaluation; Capacity Development; Stakeholder Engagement; Programme Management and Implementation.

The candidate will be able to:

  • Write and communicate fluently and articulately in English

  • Develop, manage and deliver projects in a considered and methodological manner
  • Research skills
  • Strong attention to detail

Languages:

  • Written and oral fluency in English
  • Knowledge of Arabic or French desirable
