Full-Time. Based in London, UK with 10% Travel

Scope of work:

The Head of Finance (HFin) position is a leading role in the Corporate Directorate. The role provides opportunities for an experienced finance professional to sit in a senior management role of a dynamic and growing company. The HFin role offers both the chance to develop the Corporate Directorate and the three functions within it (Financial Management, Compliance and Procurement) and to support the operational mechanics of the company holistically as part of the senior management team.

HFin will be managed by Director Corporate.

HFin will manage the finance team of 3 in HQ and functionally manage financial personnel in the overseas offices.

HFin is based in London with international travel as required.

Terms of Reference:

The Head of Finance will be responsible for the finance function for the corporate directorate with overall oversight of reporting company financial performance, project financial reporting, project reconciliation, payment processing and statutory reporting across the company’s global offices.

A. Financial Management (70%)

  • Deliver quarterly company management accounts to the Executive Management Team and develop the forecasting model
  • Oversee and maintain Standard Operating Procedure on Project Financial Management along with the corresponding tools
  • Reporting to Senior Management and Project Managers on project financial performance and budget utilisation
  • Oversee accounting database on Xero
  • Design and implement financial processes and procedures for cash management and payment processing both in Headquarters and overseas offices
  • Identify and recommend potential operational efficiencies and improvements to working practices and procedures
  • Overall control of all financial transactions and accountancy matters including payroll and Tax computations

B. Compliance (20%)

  • Preparation of statutory UK Company accounts for HMRC
  • Oversight of statutory financial reporting for overseas subsidiaries in consultation with external advisors
  • Preparation of financial advice when considering company registration in new jurisdictions

B. Procurement (10%)

  • Oversee and maintain expenses policy for all company expenses and credit card scheme
  • Design and implement procurement policies for both company and project procurements with the corresponding expense authorisation tools

Education and Experience:

The candidate will have:

  • Degree-level education
  • Qualified member of an accountancy body or holder of an equivalent qualification
  • Significant experience in finance, with at least five years in management.
  • Experience of managing professional staff

The candidate will be able to:

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the accounting principles
  • Work on modern ERP & IT systems
  • Challenge the status quo and drive things through changes
  • Diligent with strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of business as well financial issues

Languages:

  • Written and oral fluency in English
